Last Weekend in Valencia

Last week, the kids left midweek to go for a camping trip with their mountain club. This left me a couple extra days to add onto my weekend, so of course I went back and forth trying to figure out how to spend my time. I decided last minute to book a train and a hostel in Valencia. The ride there was only three hours, which allowed me to arrive early enough to explore the city before checking into my hostel. It was my first time staying in a hostel and though I was a little nervous, I ended up having a great experience! There were so many people traveling alone and everyone was very outgoing, which made it easy to meet new friends.

I spent most of my time eating, drinking sangria, and walking around the bustling city. I think I like Valencia more than Barcelona because it’s not as touristy. There aren’t a million vendors or people selling stuff to you all the time. You can walk freely without interruption. The only slight downside was the beach. It wasn’t the light sand and clear water I’ve been spoiled with in Mataró, but it was fine enough for a cool down.

Here are some pictures!
