(Here is the promised (and late :X) second part of our recent trip to the Lake District in England. I have a million stunning photos, but I tried to restrain myself and only put in a select few. )
After a chilly night in our hotel on wheels, we woke up early to start our next adventure of the weekend. We grabbed some breakfast in our pajamas, and then headed back onto the road!

Now, we didn’t really have a plan for the day. Actually, we never really have a plan. We just go where the wind food takes us.
While we were driving the road began to get steeper. At some point the little stone houses at the window became snowy mountain peaks, and before we knew it, we were in the mountains. I think I had my eyes and mouth stuck open the whole time because the views were so breathtaking.
We noticed a little pull off area with a couple of cars, so we decided to rest there for a minute. It was completely empty. I think that the car owners actually made use of the mountains and were for a hike, but we decided to spread a blanket out, and plop our pale little bodies into the sun.
Remember how I said England was always gloomy and cold? Not this part. I could’ve sworn that we were in another country by this point. Not only was it sunny and warm, but the rays were strong. We even got sun burnt! There was a nice little stream running through the area, so I decided to take a dunk and freshen up. The freezing cold water reminded me once again that we definitely were in England.

We enjoyed some of the snacks we packed and lounged in the sun for a couple of hours. It was so peaceful. And the views were spectacular. There were lumpy sheep roaming the vivid green hills and white caps looming in the background.
We also had a little photoshoot, which was fun!
The views alone were enough to make us want to camp out in the van for another night.
Unfortunately, the weekend couldn’t extend into Monday, and we had to pack up and head home. I am grateful for the short amount of time we did spend in the Lake District. It was another beautiful adventure I’ll never forget.
