(This photo has nothing to do with today’s blog post. It just felt soothing)

Initially, I was going to wrap up my never-ending posts about the Netherlands, including my trip to Keukenhof and Zaanse Schans. I’m going to deviate from my usual travel post, and babble at you for a few minutes.

Since the start of this new blog (on WordPress that is), I’ve realized that I haven’t really spoken that much about myself. So today, I will give you a peek inside my head to tell you about what I am currently wishing and wanting.

To See My Family and Friends

Traveling has hands-down been fantastic. I also wouldn’t have traded this time in England for anything (Okay, maybe for 6 months in Spain). Aside from all the excitement of these new experiences, I do miss my family and friends. YES, MOM I MISS YOU.

Ever since I started college my visits home have been sparse. I would go home for vacations and the odd weekend, but running track and trying to make it through school took up a lot of time. Also, FOMO is very real when everyone’s snap chatting from PSP and you’re stuck at home. Even before when I was in high school, my trips to Florida to see the rest of my family were short and usually a couple times a year.

So I miss my family. A lot. My friends too, but thankfully I was able to see a few of them recently and the others I Facetime/text every day.

I also miss my cat. Look at that wittle face.

Visit Portugal

So on the topic of family, my younger cousin will be traveling to Europe for the first time (Yay!), and staying in Portugal. Originally, I planned on meeting him because a.) I want to see him, duh! and b.) I’ve never been to Portugal and what a better way to experience a new country than with your family.

Unfortunately the tickets are a little pricey, and I can’t really justify another vacation because hello I just went to Spain, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. There’s also a possibility that I will be returning to the motherland of New York for a couple days in June to pick up a visa.

A Job

If-Youre-Reading-This-Hire-Me

The most exciting part of my morning is checking my email to see if I’ve been offered a full-time freelance position. I think that being excited about email is the most adult/lame thing I’ve ever heard.

Anyhow, I work part-time as an English teacher to students in China, and I also write for various clients as a freelancer. Don’t get me wrong, I work my butt off and I do have plenty of jobs, but I would LOVE to just have a couple of core clients to work for OR find an agency that I can permanently freelance for.

VISA PLZ

People, my time is running out. My visa is almost up in England, and I can technically only stay in Europe for 71 days, but who’s counting, right?!?! (nervous laugh) I’ve been racking my brain for ways to stay. From au pairing in another country and returning to NYC to get an extended visa, to becoming a freelance writer in Berlin since they apparently are pretty relaxed, I have scoured the internet for a way to stay.

Summer Shopping

Yup. I wasn’t planning on staying in England this long, so most of my wardrobe consists of winter clothing and boots. I am aching for my cute summer dresses and sandal collection that I left back in New York. But since I’m trying to be a responsible adult and all I haven’t splurged on all of the very cute items that I see in the store.

Seriously though, I just want to dance around in my summer clothes! I will eventually break down and hit the stores. Unless my parents (who I love very very very much) are kind enough to ship them over. (I hope you’re reading this)
